A great place to Relocate
The
Charlotte Metro area
which encompasses Lake Norman and Lake Wylie has unsurpassed economic climate and natural beauty and some of the best
neighborhoods in the country.
See Charlotte
Video.
Lake Norman just 18 minutes from downtown
Charlotte has great
waterfront and golf course communities.
Lake Norman is a
beautiful lake with 535 miles of shoreline.
The 30-mile radius that composes
Lake Norman is
filled with everything you’ll need for work and play. Extending across four
counties are four school systems and private school options, recreational
activities such as boating, skiing, fishing and golfing and a great variety
of dining and
shopping.
Lake Norman has
several unique and quaint towns -
Cornelius,
Davidson,
Huntersville,
Mooresville and
Denver.
The
great weather is one of the reasons so many choose to move to Lake Norman.
Four distinct yet mild seasons: Spring and Fall
are absolutely gorgeous with bright
blue skies and mild temperatures.
Snow and ice storms are rate and when it does happen,
everyone declares a holiday. Normally, the ice and snow stay on the
ground just a couple of days. Summers are warm and
in the end of July and August we have some temperatures approaching 100 with
some humidity but not nearly as much as the other
southern states.
The bugs,
insects, reptiles
and wildlife
are not an issue here - not like South South
Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
Around Lake Norman, we have some mosquitoes but
Duke Energy, who manages the lake keep a control by periodic spraying
and on an as needed basis.
How easy
is it to meet and make friends and assimilate into the
community? We like to say, the only people you meet who
are not friendly and open are the newcomers. Once you have lived here
a little while, you start to enjoy and appreciate the more laid back
friendly atmosphere, like those who relocated before you. The opportunities are there and if you do not
find acceptance, it is because you did not want it. The only trouble
you will have is if you already say, that is not how we did it ______.
You make get a response, we don't do it that way and you are welcomed to
move back to ________... just kidding. That is what they will think
but will not say.
Sports of
all kinds are a big in the Charlotte Lake Norman
area; from organized competitive sports for all age.
You can participate in sailing, water and
jet skiing, wind surfing, kite sailing, kayaking, mountain and road
biking, tennis, fishing,
skateboarding and golf - lots of year round golf.
We also have professional sports, football, baseball, basketball and
of course racing of everything from motorcycles to drag racers to sprint
cars to NASCAR.
Lake Norman is only 20
miles from downtown Charlotte. Traffic is an issue in the early morning and
afternoon commute and people will complain about any commute over 30
minutes.
They are working on plans to widen I77. Highway 16
on the West side of Lake Norman is an easier commute into downtown.
Light rail is also in the works.
We have plenty of
subdivisions with
pools, play grounds, golf, tennis, community meeting rooms
and lake access or boat slips. We also have rural areas
if you want more independence and less restrictions.
Low taxes, inexpensive
utilities and the public and private schools systems are prime motivators
for selecting the Charlotte Lake Norman area for relocation
Lake Wylie,
South Carolina is a
vibrant and thriving community where geography, people and economic vitality
have fashioned a distinctive Southern lifestyle. The leisure and excitement
of lakeside living, our comfortable, small town atmosphere and convenient
proximity to regional commercial and cultural centers make
Lake Wylie the perfect
setting to live and do business.
Recreation
is an integral part of the
Lake Wylie lifestyle. With 325 miles of shoreline, the Lake is ideal for
boating, fishing, water skiing and sailing. The temperate, yet wonderfully
distinct, seasonal changes not only enhance the area's beauty, but also
afford year-round enjoyment of such outdoor pastimes as
golf, tennis and
bicycling.
For sports lovers, the NFL
Carolina Panthers, the NBA
Charlotte BOBCATS play their home games in
Charlotte and the
Charlotte Knights play
professional baseball at
Knights
Stadium a few minutes away in Fort
Mill. And Mooresville is known as RaceCityUSA because of the stong ties
to NASCAR. And
Lowes Motor Speedway (formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway) is located just
minutes from anywhere in the greater Charlotte area.
Charlotte
North Carolina is a thriving and
historic community. Founded in the latter part of the 18th century,
Charlotte always maintained itself as a large economic player in the United
States. To this day, it is an economic leader growing at nearly twice the
national average.
Economic reasons aside it began and remains to this day a cultural leader as
well constantly ranking among the Nation's largest fundraisers for art and
culture. Residents fund programs like Bright Beginners, a curriculum to help
children under the age of 4 learn to read. The self-sustaining community is
a large reason why Charlotte has become an amazing place to move.
